Rose McIver is one of the actresses who spent most of her life on camera. She started making commercials when she was just 2 years old, and a couple of years later, she made her film debut. I guess that's a pretty big deal for someone who just learned how to walk, but that was just the beginning because her acting career got much better, and I'm sure you've heard about some of the roles she had.

She was born in Auckland on 10 October 1988 and was raised by her father, who was a photographer, and her mother, who was an artist. Besides her parents, she grew up next to her older brother, who is a musician and former actor. I guess all of them were interested in the same, or similar things, which might be the reason why Rose managed to become popular, and good at what she's doing.

Well, as I have already told you, it's been a while since Rose started her career. When she was just 2 years old, she started appearing in commercials, but I guess that's not what she wanted to do. I'm not saying that she had a bad time doing it, but it was her parents who decided that she would do that.

Besides making some commercials, she appeared in a movie for the first time in 1993. The movie was called The Piano, but I'm not sure what it was. I guess that has helped her to get more roles because someone recognized her name from before, but I doubt they recognized her face because she was too young to remember.

She has worked mostly for New Zealand TV. I guess that makes sense since she's from there. For example, she made a fantasy based series Maddigan's Quest. She also made a drama called Rude Awakenings. These are the titles I have never heard of, but I guess the reason for that is because I'm not in New Zealand, and you don't get to see their series or movies in the rest of the world.

I know that you've heard about Hercules. Well, that's a movie with the same name, and Rose had a role there. I'm not sure whether it was a big one or not, but she still got to play the role in there.

While Rose was still young, she got to make 2 movies for Disney Channel. There's Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-off, and Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board.

Now, things start getting interesting in 2009 when she landed a role we all know. She played the role of Summer Landsdown. You might not recognize that name, but I know that you know who Yellow Ranger is. Every kid has watched Power Rangers, and if you haven't you've missed out on a lot. Anyway, she made 32 episodes for this show.

I keep learning about new roles she has had, but to be honest, I have no idea what the fuck these things are. For example, have you heard about something called Tangiwai? Of course, you haven't, and neither have I. That's a movie, but I didn't find any information about it. This was based on a Tangiwai rail disaster from 1953, which might be the reason why I haven't heard about it. I don't usually look for stuff like that.

The first thing I knew what the fuck it was a series called Once Upon a Time. Now, let me make myself clear. I didn't watch that fucking thing, but I've heard about it. I don't know where it was aired, but I remember that a day couldn't pass without seeing that shit. Well, Rose played the role of Tinker Tell for a multi-episode arc there.

There's actually a ton of stuff she has made besides these things, but I just don't feel like listing every damn thing. However, I'll let you know about one more thing before I move on to something else.

So, Rose got a role in the CBS supernatural sitcom Ghosts in 2021. She got a main role there, and I guess she did a good job because she's still there. Also, the show is still going on, and if I'm not wrong, a new season is about to start.

Okay, there are a few more shows where she had main roles, but I'm sure you can find out everything about those shows on your own. It's not hard to find a list of everything she's made. I'd say that she appeared in about 2 dozen movies and around the same amount of series.

Is she really a good actress?

I might not be the best person to judge her performance, so I just won't do it. However, there's something that will give you all the answers you need.

The best way to figure out whether someone is good or not is to look at their awards if there are any. Well, Rose McIver had quite a few accomplishments. Actually, the first time she was nominated for an award, she won it. This was back in 2002 when she was nominated for the best juvenile actress for her work in Xena Warrior Princess.

In 2007, she was nominated for the best performance, but she didn't win that award. However, in 2010, she was nominated for the Best NZ Actress, and she won that award. To be honest, I don't know many actresses from New Zealand, so I can't say that she had a big competition, but that still doesn't change the fact that she's good.

After that, she didn't win any more awards, but she was nominated six more times. Almost all of those nominations were for the best actress, so if that doesn't tell you how good she is, I doubt something else will.

She's married

Rose used to be in a long-term relationship with George Byrne, and after dating for 6 years, they decided to marry on 2 January 2023. Besides that, they announced that she has a daughter a couple of months ago, so I have a feeling that Rose is taking a short break from movies and series to take care of her daughter.

One thing I learned about her was that she was an ambassador for Emirates Airlines. I have no idea what that means, but considering that's a pretty big company, it must have meant something.
