She continued to perform in live theatre until she moved away from Hampshire around 16. She then moved to South London to further her acting education. Attending Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, she furthered her craft in hopes of becoming a star in some capacity.

Amanda Holden got her big break on the television dating show Blind Date in 1991. There, she was a contestant, and had to go on, you guessed it, a blind date with some bozo. Two years later, she appeared yet again on the silver screen. But this time as an actual character!

Amanda Holden appeared in the crime drama In Suspicious Circumstances in 1993. It was a one-off appearance, but it was enough for her to get noticed. A year later, she appeared in four episodes of the soap opera EastEnders. It was a big fucking deal, as EastEnders is one of the longest-running dramas in television history.

One year after appearing in a few episodes of EastEnders, Amanda Holden earned a role as Elaine Harper in the theatrical production of Arsenic and Old Lace. She performed the production at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, but she was just getting started. Two years later, she earned quite a coveted role in the theatrical production of Aladdin.

Coming off the highly successful Walt Disney animated film Aladdin a few years prior, this would have been at least somewhat popular with the fine folks of Sheffield where the production took place. Amanda Holden played the role of Princess Jasmine, undoubtedly her biggest role on the stage to date. She played Princess Jasmine for two years until she got the role of Cecily Cardew in the theatrical production of The Importance of Being Earnest.

This was Amanda Holden’s first full-fledged UK tour. She played the role of Cecily Cardew across the UK for about a year until she got the role of Liesl Von Trapp in a stage production of The Sound of Music. This play was in Bournemouth, and she played the role of the oldest Von Trapp daughter for quite a while.

While Amanda Holden starred in theatrical productions across the UK in the late 90s, she continued to star in television episodes and films across the UK. These ranged from dramas to sketch shows to sitcoms like Kiss Me Kate and The Grimleys. Steadily, Amanda Holden was on the verge of becoming well-known throughout the UK thanks to dabbling in all kinds of entertainment ventures.

Amanda Holden starred in the TV drama Hearts and Bones as Louise Slanley. The series ran for two seasons until 2001 when it was cancelled. But it wasn’t a big fucking deal really, as Amanda Holden found success in two back-to-back television movies before landing a role in her biggest role as Mia Bevan in the BBC drama Cutting It.

Cutting It focused on the day-to-day relationships of young 20somethings working at a hair salon. It was Amanda Holden’s breakout role, and it put her right in the spotlight of UK entertainment. It ran for a total of four seasons, seriously propelling her to bigger projects.

As she became a regular on television in the early to mid-2000s, Amanda Holden made appearances as herself on popular programs like Top of the Pops. But her biggest opportunity to date came yet again on television, when she appeared in the drama Wild at Heart. She played the role of main character Danny Trevanion: a veterinarian that moves his family to South Africa.

Beginning in 2006, Wild at Heart proved to be popular as fuck! One of ITV’s biggest series, it ran for seven seasons, finally ending with a two-hour finale that tied the entire fucking thing together. Amanda Holden starred for three of those seasons until her character was killed off. This was likely due to the fact that Amanda Holden was cast to star in her first television series, Big Top: a sitcom about a circus. It only lasted for a few episodes before being cancelled. Probably because that sounds like the worst goddamn idea for a sitcom I’ve ever heard.

But this wasn’t a big deal, either. Because by this point, Amanda Holden had already established herself as a household name thanks to one particular show. If you’ve watched it in the nearly twenty years that it’s been on the air, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Amanda Holden becomes a household name

The premiere of Britain’s Got Talent in 2007 featured Amanda Holden as a judge – and she’s still there today! She has become synonymous with the show to the point that when viewers think of Britain’s Got Talent, Amanda Holden is one of the first images that come to mind. It’s also because she’s still fucking fine as hell, and I’m sure several of you have jerked off to her at least a few times over the years! Don’t fucking lie to me – I know you have!
