From the beginning, I was convinced that Morgan Fairchild was her real name. However, it turns out she picked that name herself. Morgan Fairchild was born Patsy Ann McClenny, which sounds pretty good to me, so I don't see the reason for changing it. Anyway, that's not up to me!

She didn't choose her new name at random. Morgan took her first name from the David Warner film Morgan – A Suitable Case for Treatment. I'm guessing she liked it so much that she decided to take it.
