No matter how pricey it is this is something you are going to need to spend upon. My experience one of the biggest factors which make or break webcam models is the speed of their internet connection and its stability.

Invest in getting furniture, toys, and a gimmick
No matter how sexy you are or how well you sell yourself to make the most money as a cammer you are going to want to be online for at least a couple or several hours. For that reason, you are going to want to have a comfortable chair, bed, or couch to be on.
I have noticed that the better cam models usually use colorful furniture and cushions which have some kind of theme. This is especially important if have a fetish, perform with a partner, do group sex scenes, or have a special “thing” about your webcam act.
Further, you are going to need to be in a well-lit room to show off your body and the rest of your set. However, don’t go too crazy when it comes to your type of furnishings or the lights that you use.
While it may seem like a fun idea to use blacklights, neon-colored pillows, or disco balls, they are probably going to annoy your audience.
You are also going to need to be careful to not show certain things in any of your shots. That means getting rid of any regional flags, family photos, pictures of friends, or other items that might give away who you are or where you live.

Be sure to watch out for pirated copies of your cam content
One thing which can kill your career is the fuck ton of cyber pirates out there. Fortunately, many cam sites provide tools to prevent, or at least make you aware of douche bags who record your private shows either to post on a tube so others can wank over your work without paying or to “expose” you.
But even with those tools, you are going to want to look around the net for people who have taken your footage. These days most sites are appropriately sensitive to (legitimate) DMCA takedown notices, but still, you should be aware of those who do not.
So, once you start putting you streams out there, I think it is a good idea to regularly check to see if someone else is out there doing some thankless and (possibly) profit-pulling promotion.
