I think we can all agree, that 2020 was an absolutely abysmal year for all of us for one reason or a goddamn other. One of the best ways to pass the time and deal with the stress was to check out some sweet smut online. Of course, the industry suffered like everyone else, but still, porn performers and producers powered through and brought us a whole bunch of fresh smut. And on the 23rd of January 2021, some of the best in the business gathered to celebrate their wonderful work.
Hosted by the lovely Kira Noir and Skyler Lo, the 38th AVN Awards was one of the first adult awards shows to be based on broadcasting digitally. A total of sixty-two women, thirty-eight men, and forty-three movies won awards along with loads of well-earned recognition.
Last year, I did a write-up on my predictions as to who would win what in several of the categories. So, it only makes sense now that the show has passed to do a follow-up.
In addition to commentary about the awards as well as the movies and performers who won them, I’ve got several other goodies linked throughout this epic blog.
Best actress (featurette)
Award winner: Angela White

This Australian adult actress has been in the business for a minute, working hard to get people hard so this victory certainly seems well earned. In Seasons, Ms. White co-stars in a pair of lovely scenes with Giselle Palmer and LaSirena69. But don’t think that these are a couple of short scenes, either. I can say that I called this one too and I spelled out a few of the reasons why. However, I think that I should expound on the reasons why. For one, there are not half a dozen, not a dozen but a mouth-watering, pants-soaking sixteen models featured. Second, this music video makes a Brittney Spears video look like it was shot and produced by nuns.
Put it this way, there are nearly four minutes of boobs all over the place, being shuck all-around to some banging music. Speaking of music, the tune itself ain’t too bad either. Furthermore, the way it’s shot between the camera angles and choreography makes this video look just like a mainstream rap vid. Only, it’s better because, you know.

I had the money on Device Bondage by Kink.com, and it turns out that I was right on this one, hoo-cha! Since I was right on my bet, I will reiterate a few points, that I’ve previously brought up not only to gloat but also to sell anyone who’s skeptical about Kink.com’s quality…
“I think that (nearly) everyone likes variety, but how that translates in practice is always different for every person…If you need to get an idea as to what you are in for, give the ten movies a look for a bit.
Examples include foot fucking, as can be seen in Foot Art by 21 Naturals. That’s also the same award-nominated studio that did the intergenerational flick Grandpas vs Teens. Then there is the 2019 film from the AT Kingdom, which features girls of every ethnicity riding a fuck robot called Grind Against the Machine.*
More gentle (relatively speaking) movies would be like Private Moments by Abby Winters…There are six scenes of nine gorgeous Australian lasses riding dildos and each other…However, if you want my opinion, it’s hard to beat the incredibly freaky films that Kink.com has made…Two of them have been nominated, one of which looks excellent called Filthy Femdom and focuses on guys being domed by sex women.
This may be my own bias speaking, but I [still] don’t think that this is the best example of Kink’s work. Anyway, obviously I think that this award is well deserved, and so does the academy. Give Kink and its many spinoff sites a look if you haven’t. I’m sure that you’ll find one thing (if not a great many) that you enjoy watching.

I was thinking that Evil Angel’s Throat Fucks 6 would win this won, but I was off. It’s not as if I have anything against either of these studios. In fact, having looked at this movie, I’ve got to say that I should have seen this one coming.
Directed by the legendary, mononymous porn creator Mason, this septennial installment in the Facialized franchise features a pentuple penis-sucking session with Emily Willis at the center. And that’s only a single scene. There triple the number of scenes all of which are just as hot and cum-heavy and feature the likes of Gianna Dior, Kyler Quinn, and Gia Derza.
I rarely say this, but I’m glad to be wrong.
Best special effects

This is the only movie to get not one, but two awards that were mentioned on my previous list. But hey, I can see why.
Since it is a parody of the Paranormal Activity and The Exorcist the special effects are more on the subtle side, but they are used effectively. So, instead of a Michael Bay-style series of explosions, imagine something more like a David Lynch flick where the effects are carefully woven into the film.
Except, you know, with a lot more seductive dialogue and lesbian fucking.
By the way, while I could only fit so many awards predictions on the prequel to this blog, I should point out that this movie has won another award, “Best All-Girl Movie Or Anthology” just in case you need even more incentive to check this skin flick out.
The clever title of the year
Award winner: Jumanjizz

Had two predictions for this one and missed them, in both cases. But I did get a good chuckle when I looked at this title. As good as I’m Not That Kind of Girl Unless You’re My Brother is, you gotta admit that this title is pretty lulzy.
By the way, this is one of the few winners this year and the only one on this blog that is a virtual reality experience. So, that’s a sweet bonus to my mind.
Trans performer of the year
Award winner: Aubrey Kate

Having won an impressive seven fan awards, not to mention well over a dozen others from AVN, it only makes sense in hindsight that she would be the winner for this particular award this year. Another reason why this makes sense is that Kate has not been pigeonholed to just niche trans porn, but she’s also broken well into the mainstream. For instance, she’s filmed with Adriana Chechik, Lance Hart, and Kenzie Taylor – not to mention the fact that she’s filmed with fellas who normally get naked with other guys like Colby Jansen.
Perhaps the most impressive career achievement to me is the fact that she’s starred in the always popular Axel Braun XXX parody movies.

I thought SLiquid would win this year, but after I found this product was the winner, I checked out a few reviews on the net. Then I tried it out for myself.
In both cases, I was not disappointed in either case. When it comes to reviews, I’ve seen feedback given on third-party retailers that have hundreds or thousands of reviews in all cases with an average review no lower than four and a half stars out of five.
Using my personal rating of five hands, I’m going to give this lube a top rating based on my experience.
It’s safe for use in both holes next to the legs. It’s great fun to play with your hand, condoms, sex toys, and soft on sensitive skin. That means that people with skin issues or those who are post-menopausal women shouldn’t have any problems. Indeed, this may be one of the most versatile lubricants that I have ever seen.
And as a nice bonus, this is one of the cheapest lubes that I’ve seen online. Instead of costing the same as a cheap dildo, I’ve seen that this lube costs as little as $2.99 US, two and a half Euros, or just a little over a couple of quid. What’s even better, this is a silicon-based product, so you’ll end up using far less compared to water-based varieties!
Since it is silicone-based you are going to want to watch the sheet, but I have read that laundry detergent like Simple Green should be able to scrub any stains out.
Try it out for hand play or sexy time yourself. I myself will be incorporating it into my intimate time and just add it to my recommended list of lubricants in the future.
Favorite female performer of the year

When it came to my top five condensers for this position, I was thinking that the top five best guesses would be Giana Dior, Ana Fox, Karla Lane, Abella Danger, and Kenzie Reeves. All of the ladies deserved that, but so did Angela White, and good for her for winning.
The people have spoken, she is the anointed, fan-favorite rising starlet in the industry for the year 2020.

I cannot believe I did not think to include this one on my prediction list last year. After all, if there was one thing that defined 2020 it was being advised or forced to stay indoors for far too damn long. Good thing, I guess, that a bunch of pornographers got creative and started cranking out COVID culture porn.
In this award-winning case, it was directed by two of the biggest names in porn ever Rocco Siffredi and Jenna Jameson. In addition to being crafted by Siffredi’s production company, this marvelous movie was created in conjunction with Brazzers and PornHub.
That certainly seems like a winning combo to me, but what unquestionably put this movie over the top was its talent. Starring Aidra Fox, Kristen Scott, Whitney Wright, Alina Lopez, Kenna James, and Kendra Spade, you can (currently) see this movie exclusively on AdultTime.com.
