She responded to the online comments with a video claiming her Ancestry.com results put her at 44% black, which she claimed earned her an N-pass.

To sell the obvious lie even better, she had a fake relationship with an internet rapper who has since been largely forgotten. I found a video of him saying, “Results don’t lie” about her DNA test, adding, “That’s really how she talks.” His whole family encouraged Vicky to keep up the racial charade, but damn, his name isn’t even tagged on the videos I saw. In the very first Whoa Vicky video I saw, the blonde girl was singing Despacito. Poorly. She didn’t know the words and mumbled into the camera, her gold grill flashing and her big eyelashes fluttering. It’s a hilarious image, and she seemed dumb as hell, but I remember thinking, damn, this dumb chick is hot!

I don’t think she’s a dummy, though. I think it’s just part of the act. Case in point, she was arrested at a mall in Atlanta for trespassing and assaulting law enforcement officers in 2018. Some influencers might hide their heads in shame, but Vicky shot a video as soon as she got bailed out. “Fuck twelve,” she shouted. “Black lives matter!” Vicky explained that she’d been racially profiled and arrested simply for the crime of being black. Later that year, an Asian YouTuber named Ricegum called out Whoa Vicky’s blaccent and racial slurs. He was a bigger star than her at the time, and his video helped her get over 150,000 followers in a month—the ol’ Streisand effect. Courting the controversy, Whoa Vicky responded by releasing a song with the chorus, “Ching chong, ching chong, ching chong, bitch!” She insisted the little ditty wasn’t racist. “Please don’t take offense because it’s only toward Ricegum, because he was being offensive to me,” she said. “And actually, just to let ya’ll know, when I was younger, I used to think I was Asian but my mom told me I wasn’t.”
