When news broke that Prince Harry and Meghan Markel were dating, the whole world went like ‘Aaaw that must be the sweetest damn couple ever’. But the internet can be quite an unforgiving place, and now word has it that Meghan, who is set to marry the British royalty in a couple of days. Actually dated one time pornstar Simon Rex at some point before the engagement with the prince. The two are said to have met in the US back in 2004 when Meghan was only 22.
On his part, Simon claims to have been in the porn industry to pay his bills. “I went there and did that shit,” he said in a 2014 interview. “It was just enough to pay the rent at the time. I was living in the moment.” He was 18-19 years when he made porn movies. Looking back, ‘it wasn’t the best move.’ He added.
The now 43-year-old has since changed his career to become a comedian and rapper, using Dirt Nasty as his stage name. Why the news about Meghan’s relationship with the ex-pornstar has surfaced just a matter of days before the prince is set to tie the knot with her in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle is anyone’s guess.
Never without a boyfriend
The revelations come from her former friend Ninaki Priddy. Speaking in an interview with British tabloid newspaper The Sun, Ninaki said: “Meghan used to quote The Rules all the time and put it into practice with a number of her boyfriends.”
She was never without a boyfriend for more than two or three months and always striving to have someone by her side.
“She liked the idea of being part of a team and having a domestic life. Any relationship that she was in, there was always an element of marriage in the back of her mind.” Was there an element of marriage when Simon Rex had a taste of the goodies? Maybe her friend can shed some light.
Meghan is a former star of the television series Suits and will walk down the aisle with Prince William’s younger brother just months after announcing their engagement in November 2017. It appears she had kissed more than her share of frogs before finally meeting her prince, no pun intended.
The rules
The soon to be bride seems to be a big fan of The Rules, which is a kind of a love bible written by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider. The guide was first published in 1995 and was an instant hit, especially with the women. Meghan took the search for her Mr Right quite seriously and measured up each of the six men she dated as husband material. The 36-year-old had studied the love guide so thoroughly she could recite many of its passages off the head.
Some of the guide’s 35 rules include “No More than Casual Kissing on the First Date”, “Don’t Rush into Sex”, and “Don’t Talk to a Man First (and Don’t Ask Him to Dance).” The book was courted by controversy because it challenged many feminist ideas. However, Meghan used the rules to woo her former husband Trevor Engelson, now 41, who she dated from 2004 before they divorced in 2011.
Dating a pornstar
Rumour has it that Meghan had a one-off date with the Scary Movie Rapper in 2004, long after Simon Rex had starred in several adult films. He even claims to have won an award for Best Gay Solo Video in 1997! The former model is unafraid to pose naked, and in one picture he is seen lying naked on a bearskin rug with his dog, a photo he uses as the banner photo on his Twitter account.
Rex also posts crude jokes, at one point posing with a Coca-Cola with the caption “I think I have a Coke problem.” Funny, huh?
According to mutual friends of the pair, the two had their one day fling in 2004 when they met in Los Angeles on set the short-lived US sitcom Cuts. They starred in the same episode.
Simon later starred as George Logan in Scary Movie. However, there is no indication that Meghan knew about Simon’s porn past when the two hooked up. But that’s apparently beside the point.
Previous flings
Before meeting the prince, Meghan Markel also had a former fling with basketball star Steve Lapore when she was a first-year student at a university in Chicago. Friends say she was so happy about landing a “tall, dark, handsome all-American” boyfriend. She used to brag to her friends about how broad and beautiful his chest was. That relationship was however short-lived after Lapore was transferred to Northwestern University to a college in North Carolina. He has since married and lives with his 33-year-old wife and their baby daughter.
Final word
That aside, viewers are now counting days as they eagerly await to watch the ceremony on their TV screens. The royal wedding will be broadcast across several channels in the UK and around the world. Whether Simon Rex will be closely following the proceedings is another matter altogether.
